The first edition of the hackathon with a cross-border challenge is over
The Swiss-Czech hackathon organized with the Swiss Embassy, Nestlé and Switzerland Tourism with the subtitle “See Switzerland through Czech eyes” took place on 27-28 June 2023 in the TechTower Technology Park.
The themes to be solved were given by the event partners – Nestlé and Switzerland Tourism. The contestants, of which there were almost forty, had the opportunity to work on a website for the Rhaetian Railway, a tourism app, or to try to develop the best possible plan for three years for Nestlé’s CSR activities.
As organisers, we were impressed by the quality of the entries. Not only the idea, but also the perfect execution of the presentations and app prototypes were incredible.
The four best teams from the original number had the opportunity to present their work in English in front of the representative of the Swiss Ambassador, Ms. Lorenza Faessler, who finally decided on the final ranking.
1st place: team die Wasserstoffverbindungen with their app and website design for the Rhaetian Railway
2nd place: the Uhumdrum team with a mental health campaign for high school students for Nestlé
3rd place: the Reformed Gardeners team again with an app and website design for Rhaetian Railways.
All teams won beautiful prizes worth tens of thousands of crowns from all partners. We are already looking forward to the next edition and to more great ideas from Pilsen students. The city of Pilsen hides a lot of talents and our goal is to discover them all!
