Mobility Hackathon 2026

What happens when a city plunges into digital darkness in a single second? Traffic lights stop working, public transport grinds to a halt, autonomous vehicles lose their bearings, and emergency services face chaos. Mobility Hackathon 2026: Blackout is a challenge for all students who want to try solving situations where seconds, creativity, and smart technology decide the outcome.

Urban mobility is a fragile, complex ecosystem. Your task will be to come up with an innovation that can keep the city moving even when everything else fails.

What are we addressing this year?

This year's hackathon focuses on the impacts of a digital breakdown – from infrastructure outages to a complete blackout. Teams will focus on four main thematic areas:

1. Emergency Services / Crisis Management

How to effectively coordinate emergency services during a collapse of digital infrastructure?

2. Blackout / Digital Collapse

How to ensure public transport operation, traffic control, or citizen information when technology fails?

3. Cybersecurity

How to protect key parts of urban mobility from attacks and outages?

4. Support for Military Operations in Urban Environments

How can modern technologies contribute to a better overview in urbanized areas, ensure communication, and increase situational awareness during operations in complex urban environments?

Who is the hackathon for?

The event is primarily designed for university students, but we also welcome high school students who are not afraid of technical challenges and are interested in programming.

This year's edition is created in cooperation with the SPARROW project, which brings experience from real crisis situations and technological simulations.

Why register?

Real challenges from the fields of mobility, crisis management, and cybersecurity.

Become part of a team that can keep the city moving even when everything stops.
