What happens when the city plunges into digital darkness in an instant? Traffic lights stop working, public transport halts, autonomous vehicles lose their orientation, and emergency services face chaos. Mobility Hackathon 2026: Blackout is a challenge for all students who want to try to solve situations where seconds, creativity, and smart technology are crucial.
Urban mobility is a fragile, complicated ecosystem. Your task will be to come up with an innovation that can keep the city moving even when everything else fails.
What are we addressing this year?
This year's hackathon focuses on the impacts of digital breakdown – from infrastructure outages to complete blackout. Teams will focus on three main thematic areas:
Integrated Rescue System / Crisis Management
How to effectively coordinate emergency services during the collapse of digital infrastructure?
Blackout / Digital Collapse
How to ensure public transport operations, traffic management, or citizen awareness when technology fails?
Cybersecurity
How to protect key components of urban mobility from attacks and outages?
Supporting Military Operations in Urban Environments
How can modern technology contribute to better oversight in urbanized areas, ensure connectivity, and increase situational awareness during operations in complex urban environments?
Who is the hackathon for?
For all students. All you need is the desire to tackle real problems and push the boundaries of what is possible in the city.
This year’s edition is created in collaboration with the SPARROW project, which brings experiences from real crisis situations and technological simulations.
Why register?
Real assignments in the field of mobility, crisis management, and cybersecurity.
Become part of a team that can keep the city moving even when everything stops.
