The third year of the Co-Hackathon is over!

TechTower hosted the third annual Co-Hackathon competition, which once again attracted students from across the country. Over three days, 45 participants in ten teams from six schools tackled real-world challenges in an environment that fosters creativity, collaboration and innovation.

Four themes for young talents

This year, teams could choose from four different themes:

  1. Gamification of Learning – a challenge from RTsoft Ltd.
  2. Creating a scroller against hate speech – a challenge from the Police of the Czech Republic.
  3. The “life guide” app – a challenge from Domus.
  4. Educational game app – theme from ZOO Plzeň.

The participants started programming with their own dedication, and their work was evaluated by an expert jury consisting of mentors and representatives of the sponsors.

Results of the competition

The teams did a great job, but there could only be three winners:

1st place went to the IS CORB team, consisting of students from the College of Higher and Secondary Education in Pilsen and INFIS Pilsen for an application created for the Domus organisation.
2nd place went to the team of G+SOŠ Rokycany with an application focused on ZOO Plzeň.
3rd place went to the team from Stříbro with their solution for the Police of the Czech Republic.

Thanks to partners and mentors

A big thank you to our general partner RTsoft s.r.o., who provided not only support, but also mentors and workshops. Teachers played an equally important role, supporting the participants not only as mentors but also as organizers and psychological support.

A special thanks also goes to the Domus organisation for preparing refreshments, which gave the competitors energy during the challenging days.

Innovation in the Pilsen Innovation Ecosystem

The Co-Hackathon once again showed how much potential young talents have when they connect with experts and companies within the Pilsen Innovation Ecosystem (PINE). Through this cooperation, ideas get a chance to be implemented and students gain valuable experience that they can use in their future careers.

We look forward to the next edition of this inspiring competition that pushes the boundaries of innovation.
